The Concept

The barrel-vaulted architecture naturally recalls the Sistine Chapel’s structure. I enhanced this connection through:

Frescoed ceiling medallions positioned where guests naturally look when lying in bed—just as Michelangelo intended viewers to gaze upward
LED lighting tracing the vaults to create the same spatial drama and divine light of the Vatican
Classical sculptures and Renaissance art throughout the space as visual references to Michelangelo’s work
White vaulted ceilings and terracotta bedding echoing the celestial and earthly elements of Renaissance Florence
