Modern Italianate Interiors: A Reimagined Italian Home

Alitini Design is an Italian-based interior design studio with a passion for creating modern italianate interiors that are both stylish and functional. We have extensive experience working on projects in Italy, Europe, the United States, and India, and we are always excited to take on new challenges.

A Spacious and Open Living Area

In this recent project, we were tasked with reimagining the living area of a modern Italian home. The client wanted to create a space that was both spacious and open, while still maintaining a sense of definition between the different areas.

To achieve this, we began by removing some walls, which opened up the space and allowed for a more fluid flow of movement. We then designed and had custom-made a wooden partition with vertical slats, which we illuminated from below. This partition served to divide the living area into three distinct yet open areas: the kitchen, the dining area, and the lounge area.

A Striking Entrance

The partition also serves as the entrance to the living area, and it creates a dramatic division between the living area and the sleeping area. To access the sleeping area, there is a stunning bronze mirrored sliding door. The reflection of the living area on this door, which is positioned in front of the partition, creates a unique optical illusion and further enhances the sense of spaciousness.

Modern Details and Eastern Flair

The overall design of the living area is modern and sophisticated, with a dark gray cement-effect floor and clean lines. However, we also added a touch of Eastern flair with a beautiful wallpaper that covers the wall behind the sofa. This wallpaper features an intricate pattern that contrasts with the modernity of the rest of the space, adding a touch of personality and charm.
